this can be done with multiple menus combined with the auto activating feature of Encore, it is more or less an illusion, the viewer is fooled into thinking that they are seeing just one menu but infact are seeing different menus.
check out my site and download tutorial#9 from the Advanced section, this will give you the basic idea.

right click on the project window and then select “import as timeline”, navigate to where the video file you wish to use is located, Encore will now import this and place it on it’s own timeline. If there is no yellow circle with a triangle on the top left corner of this timeline (in the project window) then right click it and select “set as first play” from the pop up options. If you want this video to loop back to the start after playing then set the “LOOP” to forever from the properties of the timeline..

try using DVDShrink to get the files from your DVD, and then import the extracted files into Encore.

yep.. just place the cursor to the far right of the .VOB file extension and then delete the word vob and add in mpeg in place of it.. you may have to search for the largest .VOB file on the disc (providing that you only had 1 timeline to begin with)if you had numerous timelines then you will have to do them all the same way..

one way is to copy and paste the .vob files from the DVD onto your hard drive, then rename the .VOB extesion to .MPEG, for example: RENAME VTS_02_2.VOB TO VTS_02_2.MPEG

Now you can import the file into Encore, not to sure on how you want to re-author the file by the way of chapter breaks?,as Encore is not an Editor. Pointless in adding chapter markers to the file as Encore does not support “end actions” for chapter markers

A burner is a burner, your DVD drive will burn PAL or NTSC, Encore will work with only PAL or NTSC in a project and not both formats together…
