I guess I’m not doing anything wrong and there is no problem at all. This is correct behavior of davinci. Thank you anyway.

    Hi Aaaron,

Well i did some more search on this matter. Nothing concrete came up, but what I understood from numerous forums is that since both of these handy tools use scripts, I guess some of their functions are incompatible with each other, thus causing extreme slowdown on the project. The very moment I turned the sure target of and animated the camera with null plexus started to work really fast, even with thousands of points. Not much help here, but I hope this will aid you in your project.

    Cheers, David

I know that if you export 100% quality, is RGB. I know that if you export 75% is YUV 422.

From Compressor I have arou 95-98% quality in Photo-JPEG.

BTW where are you seeing the Gamma Shift? IN FC, QT Player?

The shift is visible only in FCP and when rendered out of it. Other than that Photo-JPEG footage from Compressor plays with same as native gamma in QT.

But when I export HDV from Compressor with ProRes in both QT and FCP I get shift to the darker side.

    Sean,

Thanks for reply. But what I’m trying to convert is a music video that makes the life little difficult. I cant speed up the music.

The tool I used was Apple Compressor which lets you choose the quality of framerate conversion.

    Jeremy,

I converted HDV to PAL SD with several different settings and one strange thing happened: on the highest settings (Resize Filter: Best, Deinterlace: motion compensated, Rate Conversion: Best high quality motion compensated) the final vide had very nasty artifacts that were also visible on TV?

So far the best video i got was with ‘Better’ settings. Is this normal?

Any recommendations for the settings that yield the best results?

Jeremy, thanks a lot. I changed the Rate Conversion to ‘Best’ and now the addition of 25th frame is perfect. Compressor does a very nice job in this respect, I did not expect that. Thanks once again.

And how is the 24p to 25p workflow in Cinema Tools? Just ‘batch conform’?
