Have set toast to exact setting of the M2V but it still re-encodes.

Best results seem to be encoding a H264 through Final Cut (skipping compressor) then re-encode through Toast to Mpeg2.

I have tested the h.264- exported from FCP. Made a 25 minute clip and re-encoded to Mpeg2 in Toast.

The file is a little large than DVD but not as much as I thought.

The entire 93 minutes is around 9-10 GB. Does this sound right?

Hard to tell on playback if there is much different in quality from the DVD. It is screenin on a cinema screen in 2 weeks so have to get a move on…

Will try re-encoding Mpeg2 through compressor and set the same settings on Toast.

    Thanks Chris,

Unfortunately I only have FCP 6 which doesn’t have the share option but I am able to encode an M2V through compressor for Blu Ray.

It’s when I get to Toast that, even though I set it to NEVER on encoding, it still re-encodes the clip.

Can I make a FCP movie at current settings and drag it into toast?
