Mfr and model would help but most FW inputs on DVD recorders don’t see video.

None of that really matters. You’re going to a terribly lossy and reduced frame size for “web” delivery. Tell us what your target movie format and specs are and we’ll try to guide you backwards from those.
It doesn’t pay to maintain super-high production values at every step of the production process if you’re eventually just compressing for Web formats. You can bail out of certain steps and save yourself tons of time and rendering space by knowing where the effort is misplaced.

Sorry to add a post without being able to support your situation, DRW. We use Capture Now alomst daily with VHS tapes, DVDs from a player, cameras, other video sources like scan convertors, and mics all coming in as uncontrollable devices through our dsr11 or dsr45.
Everything is up to date including QT7.3+ but we’re still on Tiger.Hope you get it figured out, just glad I don’t have that issue right now.

As contrary as this sounds, I would suggest you recapture your tapes. The sooner you get rid of your M100 media files the better. If you don’t have the original tapes, then convert the files as others have suggested.
There is a realtime solution: You hook up a DV deck to the M100 breakout box and capture live into FCP via FW.
Do NOT attempt to this until you understand how FCP works with material captured from an uncontrollable device. (Of course, if you need better than DV rez, you’ll need another input device.)You’re going to love FCP and you’re going to absolutely hate it. Try not to keep pining after mature and elegant features in M100 that are silly in FCP or missing from FCP. You just have to forget M100 and learn your new system.

You and your buddy might have something simply horrible and contagious on your machines. No way for us to know from here but it is isolated to RTSP.

Your only easy way to troubleshoot is to try to capture some beta through the dsr-11. Set a manual in-point on the test clip.
“2 frames” sounds suspiciously like a DF/NDF issue but you seem to know what you’re doing with timecode so I’ll not go there.
