    Hi Roland,

I attempted to paint directly on the layer that I time remapped, but in the layer view, time remapping is disabled, so my timing is all out of whack.

I can’t set my timebase to 48fps. At least not with the settings that PP is presenting me with when I create a new sequence. My footage is technically 24fps, because that’s what timebase it was shot to in the camera, I just performed some overcranking to get fluid motion when I needed it. So there is no need to interpret to 24fps, it’s already there. I’m dealing with a dancers and fabric, so my plan was to shoot everything overcranked, and be able to adjust my speed in post to achieve 24fps if I needed it, but also always have 48fps when I needed it. In my edit, it’s worked out great so far, but now I need to move on to all of my compositing, and my clips aren’t retaining the time remapping I applied.

In the camera, you have an option of what time base you’re project will be. So, I can choose 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 59.94, and 60. I think that’s all of them. Then, you need to choose what frame rate you’ll be shooting. Most of the time, we are shooting 24 fps, with a 1/48th shutter. You have the option to activate varispeed. This shot was 48fps, 1/96th shutter, in a 23.976 time base, which means, this shot, to the editor, is a 23.976 clip, with slower motion. I have been doing some experimentation in Twixtor, and I’m getting slightly better results.

I think it’s for sure judder after to speaking with a few more experienced people then myself. The footage was shot in a 23.976 time base on a RED One at 48fps, so I overcranked. The footage shows up as 23.976 in REDCine-X Pro.

Will this preset work ok for a 1920×1080 timeline? And how are you coming out of FCP?

I am also having an issue with MM renaming my clips. If I have name items based on original filename, then why is it adding a -v to the end of my file names?

It might be called the xServe Raid, it’s a rack mount RAID connected to my MAC via Fiber Channel. The image that it displayed when the playhead is stopped is not the right image. That is not what I made my image look like in color.

We have our media stored on a Mac RAID. Plays no problem, the only problem is once the footage is stopped.
