Make sure you have the correct scratch disk selected in your system settings.

You mighte be asking FCP to render to a place that is actually full.

    Try this in this order:
Create a new sequence and drag the clip into FCP 6.0 Open timeline, and wait for the (clip does not match the sequence settings” dialog box?

Ask FCP to set the timeline to the same thing your QT is.(there should be no render bar unless the audio has been encoded incorrectly)

    THEN

Change your easy set-p to varicam.

    Scmattakid.

Cross posting on the same post in different forums is considered rude.

I have a tuturial on EDIT to tape here on the cow. It is a step by step of how to do this.

The deck should be set to internal regen after you set your preset TC.

You can’t set a custom frame size/pixel dimension in compressor?

Not near my machine. I’ll try tomorrow.

    Keep us posted.

Yes there is. Do a bit of client service here. Go into compressor and create a template to export this format using compressor. Save the template as a droplet, after you have tested it in a few short clps.

E-mail the droplet to your client and tell them to export via FCP with the setting file.

Let’s get creative people. There is always a way!

    Automatic duck.

It cost you, but it is worth every cent.

Sebsky tools will do the bin and if you dig deep enough, excel will work as well.

Whenever I have this choice, even with the SDX-900 I go with progressive images. Almost every piece of software that the footage will see (outside of FCP) prefers progressive images.

Interlaced should be banned and going progressive HD to interlaced SD will look good. The file ssizes are about thesame but given the choice I’d go progressive.

    Don,

    For the record.

I had a great chat with tech support today. I reiterated that I have no issue with my HUGE 4210 or my experience with the people I have had dealings with in your tech department (the service is always thoughtful and excellent).

My one and only complaint was that the 30day cross shipment policy was not a great idea. I appreciate the efforts to which you and others on your team have responded to my concerns. I was glad to know that HUGE is not being “eaten up” by it’s rapid growth and todays response is proof that you put your customers first.

It’s good to know that the policy has been returned to normal and that there have been changes made in staffing.

You have impressed me with your excellent level of service and I think that others should understand that you do care about your customers concerns and respond to their needs.

    Lance,

I was refereing to the initial drive which was not cross shipped (due to the policy) not the drive that you shipped me previously that went down during the reconstruct.

    For CLarity.

Drive 1 down: You cross ship
Drive 2 down: You cross ship
Drive 3 down: You do not cross ship
Drive 4 down(which is actiually drive 2 replacement): We can’t cross ship because I now have two drives down.

The point I was making in my post was about drive 3 not drive 1 or 2 and I hope you noticed that I have no issue with your service, just this policy which to me makes no sense.
