If you are runnig Xtremely hi rez images this can happen. I find that applying a .5 pixel gausian blur retains high resolution while getting rid of the jaggies.
Also,
You might wan to open the images in Photoshop and reduce tehm to about 150 DPI (double of what video can actually handle)

I agree. I did not want to be harsh and I can see why you would be supportive and push the focus on what could be done. Good advice.
I was just coming at it from the “learn from the experience” perspective.
I’ve been shooting squeeze and I think it is the best trade off when upconverting because I feel too much of the lens is lost with the adapter.

Try to white balance the camera to the outdoor light source.
Also.
if you put the camera in preset mode and hit the WB button on the front of the camera you will see it switch from 3.2K to 5.6K When it is set to 5.6K then it is preset to a white balance for outdoor (daylight) sources. You are probably shooting everything with the camera set to see white as a Tugnsten source.
Here is a good primer on light temperture. You have to tell the camera what color it is predominately looking at. It does not adjust like the human eye. You have to tell it. You are looking at daylight now. You are looking at tungsten now, etc. Sometimes there is an acceptable mix.

I am not disagreeing with you regarding story. The story will always win the day. But that doesn’t mean we should shoot everything on Super 8 either, or digital 8, or high 8 or dust off the old VHS camcorder for the next big film. I am pretty sure Antoniod’s original question was about “ideal” workflow situations. Shouldn’t he try to get the best/most image out of the camera?
Yes. I know that there are ten ways to Sunday on this, but to give the impression that shooting letterbox is better or equal to shooting squeeze or anamorphic, is just not good advice.
It will always come down to story, but for those people who want the best quality out of your DVX100 cameras:

Yes. You can put the footage to DV tape from the P2 card. This does not mean that you can capture the DV footage and cut it SD and then mathc that DV footage back to the source material on the P2 card, even after you transfer the contents to a hard drive and/or a DVD.
I am not absolutely certain if there is Metadata transfered from teh P2 to the DV tape for this purpose. But the big question if why offline in DV. You can cut HD natively at or near the same data rate (24p is about 5.5mb/sec compared to DV 3.8mb/sec).
You might want to copy all of your P2 files to the DV tape as a backup, but means that you would be downconverting all of your material to DV codec (sort of defeats the purpose.
Forr offline you could also copy all of your P2 files to a hard drive and then set up a compressor preset to convert it all to DV to edit an SD version.

Check to make sure there is no additional fooage at the end of your timeline.
Zoom the timeline all the way out to see.
go to the end of your last shot and select everything after it and delete. It sounds like there is a frame or a clip lying around.
