Right, I just transcoded to Prores 422 and now when I reduce the master gain, the clipped info “comes back” whereas before the flat line white would just move down on the scope. Tis all a bit weird but I can work like that I guess. It seems that when you select “normally scaled video” the output is clipped to 0% and 100% in resolve – NOT GOOD.

I am having this very issue. I Media Managed my sequence to Prores 4444 and all the above 100% info is evident on scopes from FCP. But then in Resolve it seems to be hard clipped at the input stage. The “unscaled full data range” in the video monitoring section stretches the signal out making it all look wrong (crushed and bright). Did anyone have a fix ti this? Version 8.2

I have a bit if a problem with that. I use the Decklink for video output from Pro Tools and Resolve on the same mac ( not at the same time) Installing Resolve 8 killed the PT output. Anything I can do?

Thanks Rohit. I will brush up my terminal skills!

Do you know if there is any “attic” or “autosave vault” style history? So far it seems that the autosave is simply saving the current version…

This is what I did in the end. The project needed a film look anyway so I bought a de-interlace plugin for FCP and di a more thorough “pre-grade”. Seems that DaVinci wouldn’t cut it if we did need to finish in interlaced SD…

Many thanks for your reply Rob.

That makes perfect sense. Unfortunately when we select the 720p to 1080i upconversion in the blackmagic control panel the picture and sound completely break up when we press play.

It works fine on just the HD-to-HD output which I presume is a “through” setting.

Seems like the problem is post FCP and happening on the card – could it be a driver issue?
