Hello Johnny,
I guess you’ve tried a Google search, and good old Ebay. If you can’t find one in the next couple of days, I’ll give a mate of mine a call on Monday to see if I can get hold of one for you.
All the best

Hello Terry,
Couple of questions for you Terry. Was there any reason why you were shooting in DV, rather than HDV?
If you are going to pull a key from footage shot on the HD-100/HD-200 range of cameras ALWAYS shoot in HDV, rather than DV, as you will get much better results.
When you are shooting with any HD/HDV camera, always use the best quality monitor you can get hold of, so that you are able to make sure everything is 100% before you wrap.
What lighting were you using? Lighting is even more important when you are intending to pull a key, as is the distance between your subject, and the green screen.
If you are able to send me a sample clip, of say 20 – 30 sec’s long I will see if I can work out how you might be able to salvage the footage you have already shot. (Quicktime export, current settings).
To be honest, and I’m sorry to say, you might have to re-shoot the footage, but please let me have a look at the footage to see what can be done.
I look forward to hearing from you.All the best

Hello Toby,
I’m going to be trying an HD7 over the weekend……I will let you know what I think.
The camera looks like a really nice bit of kit, but I will reserve judgement until I have shot a few takes, and taken the footage into FCP……I will keep you informed. All the best

Hello Braelan,
Sounds to me as if you have an dodgy connection somewhere. Turn off the machine, disconnect the deck from the card, try using a different cable/s, restart the machine, and see if this clears the problem. If it doesn’t clear the problem, please let me know.
What hours do you have on the machine? The deck you have is pretty much bullet-proof, so I’m hoping for your sake that the problems you are having are due to a simple connection problem.
I agree that you should also try connecting the deck via Firewire, just to see is the deck behaves the same.
To be honest, there are quite a lot of variables with your set-up, both software, and hardware, so it might take a bit of trial, and error to find the cause.
Keep us posted.All the best

Very good point Gary!! I would keep the pressure on, and keep contacting JVC. I had a problem with my HD-100 many moons ago, and I have to say that JVC were more than happy to solve the problem for me. Having said that it all depends on the country you live in. I live in the UK, and have only good things to say about the service I received, but I have heard some very disturbing stories from shooters in the US who have had nothing but trouble, and have complained about the company’s after sales service.
The mismatched CCD/split screen issue springs to mind. I recall reading about problems people had trying to get JVC to even admit there was indeed a problem with the CCD’s….one poster on the forum was even told to take a hike by his JVC rep……not the most helpful of responces!!!
Let us know how you get on with JVC.All the best
