I was having this problem on a short and basic edit with no photo files.

Changing the video processing options in the Sequence settings resolved the issue!

    Nice and easy.

Cheers mate, had a look and found some goodies on Class on Demand.
Will have a look out for the book. I guess a lot of it will come down to me learning as I go on projects.

I’m looking at loading OSX on a PC, do you know if it has to be dual boot or can I just have OSX alone without Windows?!

No i haven’t looked at it on a TV monitor.

I have edited things before and haven’t had this problem so I figured i’m missing a setting somewhere or something.
unfortunately Compressor is not working at the moment. It wont allow me to press the ‘submit’ button, so thats the next ting on the list to fix.

    Sequence Settings:

    1920×1080 HDTV 1080i(16:9)
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square
    Field Dominance: Upper (Odd)
    Editing Timebase: 25
Compressor: XDCAM EX 1080i50 (35Mb/s VBR)

I’ve edited things before. Shot on different cameras (including the EX3) etc and haven’t had this problem before

I have exported in Proress 422, not HQ, and it works fine which is great! thanks.
But now as I’m trying to compress it into a small format for Youtube to show somebody a rough cut, Compressor is not allowing me to click the submit button. There’s always gotta be something going wrong.
The audio track is MP3 so I am trying to source the original cd as i cannot get it in aiff or wav. and compressor is not allowing me to submit anything..

Thanks heaps for your help! much appreciated!
and if you know what could be going on with compressor or what i am missing then i’m happy to hear!

    cheers

Im exporting by Export > Quicktime movie..

    sequence settings: 1920 x 1080 i at 25frames
    Compressor: XDCAM EX 1080i50

I changed the compressor to proress 422 (HQ), which worked perfect…but it was 10GB for a 7min video.

Do you think i export as proress, then run it through compressor to a dif format?

Which formats do you recommend when exporting.

I am more camera rather than post but some small jobs like these come along where I have to edit, and i find myself lost sometimes.

Also the audio is making a clipping noise every second or so. the track is clean, but during playback and after export it is making the quiet clipping noise

    Thanks!

i have a 650GB HD running windows and other programs, 1.5TB HD for storage of music, movies, etc.. and a 320GB HD External for other crap.

I am trying to edit 1080p 25frames .MOV files from a Canon 7D most clips are about 1.1 – 2GB each

My graphics card has 512MB memory.

I would ideally like to buy a mac book pro but can’t afford that.
