We are not working with DV footage, rather we are capturing Beta SP via Avid’s Meridian board set (2:1, 720×486). I would think that maintaining the native resolution throughout the workflow would be the way to go, but I’ll give your suggestion a try and see what happens. Thanks John!

Thanks for the feedback. We do a lot of Windows Media for our corporate production clients, but I wasn’t sure if there were any reasons to recommend Real instead. Apparently, the answer is no.

Charles, wouldn’t you want to encode at 320×240 for playback on a computer monitor (square pixels)? I always thought 352×240 was for VCD.
