With Suite 2.x, just create the program in the format that matches your desired end result (probably HD) and you can drop the other clips right in. The clips will get a high quality render when you’re ready to master/export.

Wait, just one clip? Why not just acquire it again?

I take it that it’s happening on a lot of clips. How did you create them (import from QuickTime, acquire, HDV, XDCAM, etc.)? Did any of them ever behave normally? Do you have any clips from the same source that work ok?

Um, either you have an 844/x or a G5, but not both. 844/x was Windows-only, and it has a forum here. G5 is a PowerPC Macintosh.

Does the clip have any sound when you play it from the edit clip panel? Maybe the audio got L-trimmed down to nothing?

August 17, 2011 at 5:06 pm in reply to: Update on Lion-compatible version of Media 100?

    There are three issues here.

One is that there are changes needed in Media 100 Suite in order to run under Lion. We are beta testing those changes now. If you need it now for whatever reason, contact us and we’ll get you set up.

The next is that Lion has broken the Media 100i codec in NTSC. Today’s 10.7.1 update didn’t fix that, unfortunately. If you don’t have any legacy media in that codec, this doesn’t affect you.

The last issue is that your other hardware and software have to be Lion compatible as well. This partially relates to #1 as we have to make sure the hardware drivers for AJA, BlackMagic and Matrox still work for us, but also you have to make sure the rest of your workflow is ready. Obviously this one is up to you.

#1 – There is no UI to exclude specific audio tracks except in P2 import. It’s something we will consider for the future. Meanwhile you can turn off the tracks after import with the Track Mapping button in the edit clip tab.

    #2,3,4 – Sorry, I can’t follow what you’re saying.

#5 – I just tried a 30 second HD clip at 25fps, best quality, multipass. The resulting file was 225 MB. What do you mean that you can’t adjust it?

There’s a bug if you start with a clip in V1-99 and put a TimeFX on it. So, try moving the clip to Vab or to a bin first, then double click that clip and add the TimeFX.

I’ve been trying to fix this bug but it hasn’t been easy.

The splash screen now shows some text of what it’s doing during startup; what does that say?

Check your /Library/QuickTime folder for any unusual components. You can move them to someplace else temporarily and launch Media 100 Suite to see if that’s the problem.
