    More speed is fine, more cores are good, more memory is great. It would be really hard to use 12 cores even in a very threaded application like Media 100.

    My guess is that the DVDs are in Windows format and therefore the files have lost essential resource fork information. That would definitely make bins, programs and projects unusable, but media might be salvaged. Since your media is also not working, maybe the resource forks for all the files got munged somehow in the burn. Maybe one of the data recovery services could help, but they are not cheap.

    Some AV cards can be configured to appear as an additional monitor. If Media 100 thinks you have 2 monitors then Arrange Windows will put some windows on the second one. Check your System Prefs Displays pane. Check the control panel for your card. I think AJA has two installers for each card: one with the monitor and one without. BlackMagic might set that from the control panel.
