which mac pro?
About to finally pension off my trusty G5 for a mac pro. Any thoughts on configurations? ie 8 core vs 12 core, clock speed, ram etc. Would 12 cores be of any real benefit to me? Running the latest M100, doing HD/SD. Don’t really get into a lot of heavy graphics.

More speed is fine, more cores are good, more memory is great. It would be really hard to use 12 cores even in a very threaded application like Media 100.
