    John,
We went to a high-end home theater store (Comtech). One way to see your stuff on an HD projecter. They had a state of the art theater set-up as show piece. They let us camp out for a couple hours, for free. Your right, the images were incredible. Almost too good. The stuff we are shooting today looks amazing on the HD reference monitor. We did some close ups, you could see the guy’s contact lenses, plus some wild nose hairs. Comtech said they could get a good HD projector by Runco for $3,500.00. Does this sound right? We may stick to the reference monitor and use the projector we have to check out how it looks blown up. I’m sure we will head back to Comtech several more times and use the HD projector.

Thanks for the great replies. The day is going better. I’ll get this info to the crew. We are using HD lenses (great ones $$$, good monitor, the projector is not HD. We are going to take another good look tonight. Thanks again, I’ll report back.

Just to be clear, we have a DP, I have no experience with a varicam. I’m just trying to help. Also, what could be causing the focus issues? Thanks again,

  • I did another boot(after uninstalling Pinnacle, completely, including my registry and reinsatlling Vegas6), kicked in, works fine. Look out for the Dazzel conflict, a tech support guy there said he just found another case.

  • I installed Pinnacle/Dazzel on my desktop and laptop. Everything seemed to get along. Yesterday I captured a tape (firewire) through Vegas6, I then tried to capture another, I recieved the Cirrus message. I switched to vegas 5, it worked , once, then the message. I moved over to my laptop in hopes of using it. I got the same message when I tried to capture through Vegas6. I just did a complete uninstall of Pinnacle, including the registry, everything on my desktop. I unistalled Vegas6, downloaded and installed it again, got the same message. It says it is being shared or off. How can I check?

  • It seems there may be a conflict with Pinnacles Studio and Dazzel software. Some other folks have had the same issue. How can I check to see if it being shared or turned on?

  • I’m still getting this message, on both computers. It was working fine. We just updated to Vegas 6. I have removed it and loaded it again, same problem.

  • Hi Gary,
It’s firewire. The deck worked for awhile then stopped. When this started in Vegas 6 I switched to Vegas 5 (have both on the same machine), that worked for a short time, then message started to appear. Is there some kind of software conflict?
