  • Capture error Cirrus logic USB-DVR2 busy or off, help!

Posted by Dave Mac on July 14, 2005 at 10:18 pm

I can’t capture on both my computers same error message, “Capture error Cirrus logic USB-DVR2 busy or off”. I do have Pinnacle on both machines, however, I removed it and reinstalled Vegas 6 , still got the error message when trying to capture. I am under a deadline and need some help quick, thanks

Are you trying to do a capture with Vegas connecting your device via USB? You must use firewire.

    Hi Gary,
It’s firewire. The deck worked for awhile then stopped. When this started in Vegas 6 I switched to Vegas 5 (have both on the same machine), that worked for a short time, then message started to appear. Is there some kind of software conflict?

I’m still getting this message, on both computers. It was working fine. We just updated to Vegas 6. I have removed it and loaded it again, same problem.

It seems there may be a conflict with Pinnacles Studio and Dazzel software. Some other folks have had the same issue. How can I check to see if it being shared or turned on?

I’m lost. What does Pinnacle and Dazzle and USB have to do with Vegas capturing via firewire? You said above you were capturing via firewire.

Are you capturing firewire? Or are you trying to capture via USB using the Dazzle?

I installed Pinnacle/Dazzel on my desktop and laptop. Everything seemed to get along. Yesterday I captured a tape (firewire) through Vegas6, I then tried to capture another, I recieved the Cirrus message. I switched to vegas 5, it worked , once, then the message. I moved over to my laptop in hopes of using it. I got the same message when I tried to capture through Vegas6. I just did a complete uninstall of Pinnacle, including the registry, everything on my desktop. I unistalled Vegas6, downloaded and installed it again, got the same message. It says it is being shared or off. How can I check?

I did another boot(after uninstalling Pinnacle, completely, including my registry and reinsatlling Vegas6), kicked in, works fine. Look out for the Dazzel conflict, a tech support guy there said he just found another case.

Hi all – Dave and Spikeyfruit,

I too would appreciate to know how the problem was fixed as I am now getting the same message which then does not allow me to capture DV video using Vegas 6. I once had Pinnacle which I completely removed in favour of Vegas 6.

    cheers and thanks
