OK, let’s take “Live Music” as an example. To simplify the procedure, for each group (1-3 songs/chapters) I added the main video and set in/out points at the start and end of each group. I then added each group’s “movie” to a menu and set the end action for each group to the proceeding group. This accomplishes the goal of placing non-linear sections of the main video back-to-back, but according to Vegas Preview (I haven’t made a disc yet, it takes too long for DVD9) each group remains its own title. As such, it also won’t navigate backwards to previous titles. Playlists exhibit the exact same behavior. I can’t imagine doing this for each chapter will affect the outcome. I don’t know what else would be helpful to tell you.

Yes, I understand that only one video is rendered with separate in/out points. It does not, however, solve my problem of wanting several, non-linear sections of a video under a single title. For that it appears I will have to render a separate compilation.

OK, so basically your hidden menu method is just a convoluted playlist. Also, it doesn’t force all of the footage under one title, same as with a playlist. I’m coming to the realization there is no way to place non-linear segments of a video under a single title without re-rendering them separately. If this assumption is incorrect (or if I may have done something wrong executing your method) I’m happy to be corrected.
