I am totally new to HD. So I have shot myself in the foot here, so thanks for the help.

Yes I am seeing it on a monitor, however in SD as it is somehow getting shot down my aja io and into monitor via component. Not sure how or where its converting that HD timeline to SD.

Anyhows…. I liked your suggestion of creating an HD render and playing it out on a computer. I have to add a background and make the loop in FCP and that’s where my problems start. Any chance you could talk me through the process from the moment I open FCP, drop that clip into the timeline, get the mismatched settings notice and the red render line.

Man I love SD down SDI to digibeta.

    Thanks so much

Thanks for the help. I now “get” what you are saying, but one more questions technically.

If I have Vo on say a1 and my sot on a2. Do I mix with the channels panned to 0 (centered) and then assign them to output to 1 & 2 on. Or do I mix with a1 panned to -1 (left) and a2 to panned to +1 (righ) and then assign both of them to output to 1 & 2.

So vo/sots/music/fx all get mixed to 1 & 2. Usually when I do this for 2 channel betas sp, I center my audio pan mixing to 1/2 so each channel gets gets exactly the same mix. Is that right, or do I need to seperate vo to 1 and nats to 2, with music going to 1 & 2. man I am confusing myself further !

Then in addition, I duplicate all my music and FX, put them on on different tracks and assign them to 3 & 4 also, is that correct ?

    thanks again

The stereo mix is where I am a little confused

    Here is whats requested:

    * Only true stereo with left channel on 1 and right channel on 2
    * Music and effect stereo left and right on channel 3 & 4.

So does that mean VO and Sots get split to 1 & 2, or does it mean they get centered (0) on the pan, mixed and go to both channels without music ? Or does music get mixed into 1/2 also, or is it totally seperate ?

Never had to deal with this before (always done audio mix on promos out of house- but this is long form) so we are a little/lot confused.

How then do we assign tracks to output channels after we chaneg our settings ?

    thanks

I have replaced three of these drives. I have called Lacie and they tell me it may be a power cord issue, but I have used a power cord that has been working, and no joy. If your drive is out of warranty and not working, I would suggest getting FW enclosures, and splitting the drives into separate 250 drives. In my cases teh drives were bad, it was the FW bridge.
