I would agree with the other replies here and go so far as to say I would strongly avoid against using an internal drive for video editing.
One of the additional reasons for specifying this is that if you edit on the same partition as your operating system the defragmentation which will occur could cause additional performance problems even when not capturing.
I do video editing on a laptop but keep all my video projects on an external USB2.0 300gb drive. This works well for me and also means when I need to defrag the drive – as I do from time to time – I can do this on a seperate Windows XP system

I’m not sure how well I am going to explain this, but here goes!
I have had success with the steady movie filter, but only if I apply it to a clip rather that a whole video.
For example, if you shoot 10 15 second clips and then import the whole footage onto the timeline this will cause glitches if you apply the filter to the whole sequence. The glitches will occur when two of the 15 second clips join. After a while, they should settle down.
If however you apply the filter to each of the 15 second clips in turn the results should be more predicable.

I’m running AE7.0 Pro wich came as part of the production suite and it certainly has the CC Sphere effect and, yes, it is a 3rd party add on.
Although I never had 6.5 Pro (I only had standard) I thought it was included in the pro version. On the install media do you have an option to add “3rd part plug ins?”
