I’ve tried a bunch of different formats, all on default settings. My usual is the Youtube HD Widescreen one, and it seems to do this to all videos. If I kick it up to 1080p it looks like the bar disappears, but obviously that’s not a great solution for a 720p source. The bar’s present throughout the video and doesn’t really flicker in and out, just stays as a static lump of pixels at the top of the screen. No filters, no fiddly bits at all.

Unfortunately, no. I had a device plugged into component, with component selected in the control panel.

If I could butt in, is there a list of known supported motherboards for the Shuffle? I’d really like to get one, presuming it’s the plug and play solution I’m hoping it is, but I’ve had a lot of trouble with the Intensity Pro in the past, and if I pick one of these up I want to make sure it’s 100% painless to install. Can I just pick up any old x58 motherboard, plug it in, and it’s good to go?
