Hey,
Though I should update. It’s been crazy and complicated, but the cable for the display seems to be out. We’re putting in a new one and hopefully have it fixed by the end of the day or early next week.
That’s the update!

Unfortunately that didn’t seem to work… It may just be facebook not having a crappy uploader. Do you think another color besides Red might help?

Welp. Vertical green lines no mater what I boot from. So though there wasn’t a hardware issue that showed up, I still suspect a loose connection or something. I don’t think it’s the GPU because when I plug in an external monitor, it’s perfectly fine.
So I called the repair place again. Unless there is any other suggestions on the subject, I guess I’ll take it in again and have them look deeper.

Awesome. I’ll give that a shot.
I was advised to pick up MacKeeper and ClamXav to see if running those would solve some problems. I’m in the middle of the first scan, but as soon as I can I’ll install the OS on a firewire and post back here the results probably tomorrow morning.
Thanks for all your help and sticking with me on this one. Sooner this goes away, the sooner I can really start working.

See that’s the thing. I wish it was only happening in final cut, but it’s my entire screen. The background of my computer that is mostly black is showing green vertical lines. Every program that shows black shows these terrible green lines.
I first took it to the Apple Store, and yeah not much help at all just a suggestion for a $310 overhaul. Then I took it to a Apple Certified repair place that a friend recommended me to. They ran a full diagnostics and got nothing. So he thought it’s probably driver based. I’m not a hundred percent sure about that, but I figured do an overhaul and clean out the system. If it works, I save myself a couple more hours of labor. If not, I take it back and he opens it up and takes a deeper look inside.
He said that time machine should recover most of the apps, but probably not final cut or adobe. He didn’t want me to time machine the whole thing because the issue is somewhere in the library and I really shouldn’t touch that. But I haven’t been able to find any recent information on whether time machine has been updated to fix final cut or apple just kinda let this battle go.

My screen has been showing vertical green lines instead of what should be black.
A diagnostic check showed that there were no hardware damage or issues to speak of and the specialist said that it’s probably a software issue and needs to be restored completely. He told me that I should be able to Time Machine the applications, but that Final Cut Studio would most likely need to be installed from the DVDs again.
I was seeing if someone had found a way to restore Final Cut Pro without having to reinstall with the DVDs. Trying to save some time instead of being shut down for a day hunting down the DVDs again. Though it seems by your reply that I’m looking at the long way.

Well that is frustrating. I suppose I’ll have to boot up fusion for a solution. Thanks for the help! I’ll post my workflow if people need to reference it in the future.
