Unfortunately, I’m on Windows, and so I can’t try out that application. However, I seem to have inadvertently found the reason behind the error. Apparently clearing all of the Adobe Media Cache solved the problem. It probably had some sort of saved .pek/.cfa/other file that kept telling it that the file was corrupt when it actually wasn’t. The same problem happened to me earlier in the year where it worked on my laptop but not on my desktop. It now makes sense that it had to do with the cache which wasn’t shared among both computers.

January 8, 2013 at 3:06 am in reply to: File Import Failure – Unsupported format or damaged file (Only for certain projects)I see. It can often be difficult adjusting to a new piece of software, so I can understand your annoyance at Premiere. It does take a bit getting used to. Myself, I started with both Final Cut and Adobe Premiere, so I know a fair amount of the problems that can arrive when ‘thinking’ in a Final Cut kind of way and not knowing how to do it in Premiere. If you have any problems like that, don’t hesitate to ask for help.

March 20, 2012 at 3:49 am in reply to: Cannot scrub smoothly and cannot easily move timeline and bin windowsI’ve found out some more information, including the fact that the same problem happens in Adobe After Effects, but not Adobe Premiere. I’m thinking it may have to do with my graphics card or its drivers, but I can’t be sure. In any case, my graphics card is the NVIDIA GTX 465.

March 19, 2012 at 2:24 pm in reply to: Cannot scrub smoothly and cannot easily move timeline and bin windowsThe thing is that it doesn’t happen in other applications at all. Also, it’s not the mouse that isn’t smooth. The mouse moves freely, it’s the windows that stop moving while being dragged by the mouse.

March 17, 2012 at 11:49 pm in reply to: Cannot scrub smoothly and cannot easily move timeline and bin windowsThis is on a fresh install of both Windows 7 and Avid. I literally installed them both on the same day a couple of days ago. I have AVG installed, and that’s it. I have 6GB RAM, and so by default Windows gives me a paging file of also 6GB. I’ve also rebooted multiple times, to no avail.

March 17, 2012 at 8:29 pm in reply to: Cannot scrub smoothly and cannot easily move timeline and bin windowsI notice that the problem seems to come and go when I alt-tab out of the application and then when I come back, it works fine again for about 5 seconds, until I play something, and then it stops working again.

Wow, thanks. Now I feel stupid. I’m still new to AE. Although I would like to know why AE makes you do that and can’t apply them both in the same comp. What you said is an easy fix, but it means that I now have to make a precomp for all the videos I want to use the effect on, which means 10 more compositions.
