That is what I figured, but I think Adobe needs to look at way of handling that. Thought it was all integrated now. I wasted an hour building something, finding out that premiere cant handle what the client wanted, (which was simple) and then having to start from scratch in AE. He seemed dumbfounded that I had to reset all the type. And so was I considering that Title Tool is fairly robust.
Every new element in Title Tool should open in AE as a layer element of another composition, in place with sizing and font info. Just another hurdle in the transition from FCP to all Adobe.Dan Powers

Noise could be art. So it is subjective. Are you seeing grainy noise or 8bit color banding in the sky gradient? Post a frame. I have seen Neat do a good job on sky noise before. You could always layer your shot and blur just the noise region and chroma key out the bad area with the new blurred area.

Wow that was so long ago I do not recall the resolution. Sorry, I just cant remember the details A lot has happened in 6 years! Explain what you have going on and I will see if it jogs my memory. I have not seen FCP give a 3:2 cadence that I remember. I think I do remember the old Panasonic P2 cameras shooting 23.98 in an A mode or something which output at 2997 with 3:2. That was a P2 setting.

January 10, 2013 at 4:37 am in reply to: AE CS6 3D camera tracker will not track distant objectsThanks Roland. We you able to get ANY mountain results with test3? In order to make that clip work I had to precomp it and crop out most of the foreground. It is strange to me that it wouldnt look at the blue mountain in the right background. AE gave me no points. Maybe after effects Solve cannot handle depth beyond a certain z value…

Its the test 3 file. It is only one second so it is a quicker test. With this scene it gets only the lower third of the scene. No mountains at all.

January 10, 2013 at 1:38 am in reply to: AE CS6 3D camera tracker will not track distant objectsThanks Tom, good to know it can at least be done. I did have some success with precomping the file and removing much of the foreground objects with a mask. I would love to have Syntheyes but am hesitant to drop $600. May wait to see if 6.5 improves the AE tracker. Quite pleased with it otherwise.

January 10, 2013 at 1:05 am in reply to: AE CS6 3D camera tracker will not track distant objectsI have adjusted the size and looked in the background and it creates no targets in the distance. I am uploading an H264 of one of the clips to my server. Even though there are cliffs and trackable objects in the background it will not attach to them. Your sample photo, was it shot from tripod or jib? My scenes were shot from an RC Helicopter. I have been experimenting with cropping out areas that I do not want tracked and precomposing that and then it seems to look at the distant elements, but I have to remove most of the foreground elements…

Thanks for the replies. Here is what I found.
I thought my deck was out of calibration but I had overlooked the 7.5 vs 0 ire setup switch on the AJA Kona. What I wonder is why would you want one vs the other?
I have never viewed the output of a analog deck and NOT had the 7.5 so why would you want the analog output to be at zero. zero is for 601 signal, or as I see also for component. So why would component analog need the choice? I have never had a component analog WF/VS all mine have been component digital and composite analog. I find that component monitoring should be zero, but beta SP input should be 7.5, then the output of the SP has the setup added and then the monitor is too bright…Dan Powers
