The Shure x2u is an interface between the computer and mic and has its own input trim. It’s supposed to be the most quality device of its kind, but it doesn’t come with any software of its own. The problem is that, with the trim set to its lowest, the gain is still far too sensitive in Vegas. (It can’t be adjusted in Windows mixer because it connects by USB.) Still trying to figure out a solution to the original question about Vegas’s input gain, so any insight on that is much appreciated.
If nothing else works I guess I’ll have to go back to using an external mixer – although that seems to defeat the consolidation purpose of the x2u! I’m not very familiar with this website yet, but does anyone know of another forum (here or elsewhere) for discussing recording equipment?
