WMV whether Standard or advanced is a very bad choice then.

720×540 at 400Kb/s is very aggressive – is the content mostly static? You should be able to double that bit rate easily.

Why 15fps? – even a crappy old mobile device can handle a full frame rate.

If you want the widest compatibility use MPEG-4 SP or MPEG-1, not WMV.

If you are taking interlaced HD content down to SD then you have to deinterlace, regardless of what display you’ll be viewing it on. 1080i into 480i or 576i will not fit

Just because it’s an ‘old’ regular TV does not mean the source needs to be interlaced.

Interlace was used to get over ‘bandwidth’ restrictions.

What version of compressor are you using?

Have you opened it in Quicktime, if so what information does that give you?

Compressor is certainly up to the job. Are you trying to make an AC3 surround file out of a stereo source?. Obviously AC3 can be just 2 channels but you need to specify this in the Audio tab settings.

All this is very clearly run through in the Compressor manual.

‘None’ in this case means no compression, despite ‘CODEC’ meaning COmpression DEcompression, a ‘None CODEC’ is an uncompressed CODEC. Remember both AVI and Quicktime are just wrappers for CODECs.

You can export Uncompressed AVI out of Quicktime Pro 7 on a Mac.

If they need i-frame only or uncompressed it’s for a reason and as such given them a LongGOP file (the other formats you list are all LongGOP except JPEG2000) is likely to be unacceptable.

It might be worth contacting Click Effects to see what they do support?
