    Hi Mark,
    Nope. That doesn’t work.

I have 4 projects open, each one is a short film and I am cutting a promo for each one. In every one of those projects, filters aren’t working. This is so bizarre because filters work in my older project.

And come to think of it, I had tried to use an audio filter and that wasn’t working either. I ignored it thinking there was a problem with that filter because it was in my favorites bin. Something is obviously wrong.

Thanks Walter. Your reply is really helpful.

So when you say that FCP is useful for the offline edit, do you mean I would edit the piece in FCP, then export normally, then bring into After Effects and re-export in the resolution size needed for the three screens?

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for your reply.

The screens they want to show this on are already there and setup, so would they need the 3 units of Brightsign HD210 or the HD210W (wireless) version and a router or Ethernet hub? I don’t understand what these are for if you are playing the same thing on multiple screens.

But the info you gave is very helpful, especially since they did NOT plan on this in pre-production and I’m not sure it will look good at all. I don’t even really understand why they would want to do it this.

Another addition: I opened an old project and applied a filter and it works just fine. What is wrong with the projects I’m working on now?

    Hi Joey,
That’s pretty much the conclusion I came to. Thank you for summing it up! As I said in the original post, my work has always been in done in SD as it’s all offline and no need for HD so this is new to me. I didn’t realize it was this hardware intensive. Thanks for all the help!

PS: Any suggestions on a person or place that can do this sort of thing?

    Hi Michael,
Not sure if anyone saw my last post, so I will sum it up. I got the TB drive, and started the transcoding in compressor yesterday. I left it running overnight (16 hours later) and checked it this morning to see that a mere 10% was complete and there was roughly 143 hours to go! I need to have this thing cut in the next few days, I can’t wait a week for this process. Am I doing something wrong? And is there anything else I can do? I don’t have my tower here which I’m sure would make it faster, but I didn’t think it would take this long on my Macbook Pro. Help!
