Overall, I agree with your discontent. I also purchased an EX1 after NAB and eagerly awaited my rebate coupon, expecting to pick up a couple of extra batteries or an SxS card for the camera. I was too was unhappy to see the link to consumer-oriented gear alone.
That said, I agree with another poster that the on-camera light seems good, as does their very portable digital audio recorder: https://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665760564g. I’ve read some positive reviews of the latter in professional audio mags.
Does anyone have experience with Sony’s on-camera LED light? How does it compare to the significantly less expensive light from Varizoom? https://varizoom.com/products/lights/ls2000.html

Actually, the Aussies (MxR) charged $5 less per card than Hoodman. I bought 2 cards plus a reader and they charged $7 for Airmail shipping for everything.
Will probably take a few days more to get here, but that’s $15 less for 2 cards plus shipping.

Thanks. I appreciate everyone’s help a lot!

My dumb! I saw information at https://www.xdcamexinfo.com which talked up the Delkin readers, and subsequently found a good price. Should have stuck with CreativeCow, as I always get great info here.
Could you give me a link where to purchase readers that you know to work?
Thanks!

I demoed and purchased a Varizoom DV MediaRig at NAB and couldn’t be happier (https://varizoom.com/products/supports/vzdvmediarig.html). Another shooter at NAB recommended it, mentioning that his wrist will never be right again after several long shooting days with the EX1.
After a little time balancing the camera on the rig, I can now produce excellent stabilized shots, including tilt and dutch angles, with minimal stress and strain. So worth it!
I added their VZ Rock-EX for zoom and start/stop control (https://varizoom.com/products/controls/vzrockex.html). Cost ~$750 for the pair with show pricing.

Excellent!
Please let us all know when you’ve got the download ready.

any idea if the limiting factor is the processing capability of the computer or the throughput of the RAID array you’re pulling video from?
I have a very fast dual quad-core workstation, but am pulling data off a 2-drive Seagate Barracuda array. Using SD resolution.

Thanks! Looks slick and relatively easy.
BTW, when I place several video streams in a single view, the preview monitor plays back kind of choppy. Is that cured once one renders the final output?
