Producing multi-clip effects like “24”
Posted by Daniel Levy on February 9, 2009 at 1:42 pmI’m using CS4.
Could anyone offer suggestions for producing a multi-clip final image like is done on the TV show “24”?
I’ve seen similar done with “Lightwave”, using multiple projection planes in the same scene, but that requires a lot of rendering.
Is there a simple plug-in that offers such capability within CS4?

February 9, 2009 at 7:13 pmEvery video clip on the timeline has a motion setting in its effect controls palette. Inside that drop down is a scale parameter and a position parameter. By layering clips on top of each other and adjusting those parameters for each, you will achieve the look you are going for.

February 11, 2009 at 10:34 pmThanks! Looks slick and relatively easy.
BTW, when I place several video streams in a single view, the preview monitor plays back kind of choppy. Is that cured once one renders the final output?

February 11, 2009 at 11:35 pmIt should be, yes, however some people have reported that even their exports are not smooth.
I suggest you do a test to see what happens on your system.
Cheers
