Ive been giving it a go and am getting somewhere with it…only thing Im having trouble with is using a gradient to make them distribute, ive got the grid of the images, but i cant the gradient layer to do anything. When i bring in a layer and say that it is the gradient layer, it doenst do anything to the images, i mean they dont start appearing or soemthing similar….is that meant to happen?
cheers

June 4, 2006 at 1:40 pm in reply to: Whats the best way to enlarge a canvas in Photoshop that you are using in After Effects?Hi i see what you mean, but the problem is i want to add more in the photoshop canvas….
Like say ive got some mountains made in photoshop and i want to make the taller, when i make them taller in photoshop it puts everything out in after effects. If i make the compositon bigger in after effects i cant make the mountains bigger, that has to be done in photoshop………does that make sense?

May 29, 2006 at 9:28 pm in reply to: How can I mask this image on better so it looks more NATURAL?Hey mike
Thanks for the info, ive actually got painter, just not used it in a while. Having a play around now and its got some great brushes and features, but I have one question. When im creating an animation, i do make movie and say 24 frames with 2 layers of onion skin, which works fine when on the background layer, but as soon as you craete a new layer and start painting on that it goes weird. Basically all the brush strokes previous are left on the screen so you cant tell what the animation is gonna look like. But for some reason when you render it out it looks ok, but until then its hard to tell what itll look like…. Do you have any ideas?
Cheers!

Do you mean the program Painter? If so do you mean that you can use the brushes in it in conjunction with after effects. Or is Painter a plugin for after effects? Is it possible to bring in custom brushes into after effects?

May 25, 2006 at 11:33 pm in reply to: When you use the paint option can you set it as a matte layer?thanks man, will do that in future
when you say make it alpha matte in the timeline, so it has to be on separate layer then yes? just cause if you paint on the same layer and make it alpha matte youll loose anything underneath the paint. its just easier painting on the same layer cause you can see what you are painting on……..

May 25, 2006 at 10:07 pm in reply to: Is there anyway of using the SCRIBBLE effect twice on the same layer?Hi colin
thanks for the help, but the main problem i have with precomping, is using different timelines with the same composition window…..do you know what i mean? like when you change the timeline comp it will change that which is in the composition window, and when you have precomps it can get a bit confusing…..or is there a way of getting around this?
Also i have scribble set to on original image but it still seems to be doing the same thing!
cheers
