I’m sorry, I do keep forgetting about the manual, i know thats a bad excuse, and so I will do my best to keep all questions to a more challenging level…and that dont have answers in the manual. sorry again, dont want to annoy anyone here, but you have all been really helpful.

Cool thanks for your help, can I ask a couple of questions regarding what u mentioned?

Is there a quick way to solo a layer, or do u have to go through each layer deselecting the eyeball? What exactly do you mean pre-render and then import the layers that you’ve finished? sorry if that seems to dozy, just didnt fully understand. Also, finally, if I import a 2 gb video footage file but crop it so that there is about 10 seconds, will this slow down AE because it is a big file…should i crop the file in premiere and then save it as 10 seconds and then import into AE, or does it not make much difference?

Oh also what I meant to say was…I have enabled time remapping on the border layer so as to have about 1 second of flickering that repeats itself…does having time remapping enabled slow it down much when Im putting it into future compositions? Or is there any easier way to loop the one second?

Hey so I just found a frame where it was white with the black border and applied it as a luma matte to the layer and it seems to have worked a treat. Excellent, a bit of logic from this forum goes a long way 😉
Actually can I ask…now I have made this video with borders, should I render out as a video and then reimport OR precompose it and use it? Does having the luma matte slow it down much?

Erm…I doubt it, I dont know how to make alpha channels in Photoshop…is it easy?

Hi thanks for your help again but Im having the problem that it does make the bird disappear behind the poles but the poles disappear so it is just the bird there and nothing else!

Ah yes ofcourse, sometimes I think things are more complicated than they really are. Thanks for your help, Ill give that a go. Also do you know about rendering out…I posted a message about it above, I just have to be in uni in an hour to show my work and its not gonna happen at the speed rendering is happening!
