    Thanks for the reply, Dave.

I’m using 3D extrusion in AE, but if there is a butter way to render it, I’m all ears.

I’m coming back to AE after a bit of a hiatus, so there may be new things I have missed. Anything that is faster and better is of interest ☺

    Cheers,

    Daniel

  • Thanks for the reply, Kristian.

I have already set output to 1080 50i in the DeckLink preferences but the framerate is overridden by the timeline settings in Premiere and AE. That is my problem.

Also, I’m not sure why PsF would not be supported over HDMI. 1080i25 is a standard supported by HDMI so why couldn’t this carry a progressive frame split across the two fields (i.e. 25PsF)? In fact, 1080P25 is not an HDTV standard and cannot be received by my Bravia so 1080P25 material must be represented as 25PsF (a 50i signal containing 25P frames).

    Thanks,
    Daniel

Hit the nail on the head. Thankyou.

  • Yep. Never had any problem with CS6, but they’ve completely re engineered the output module in the latest version.

  • Interesting. Where did you set 1080i? The new mercury transmit doesn’t allow selection of output format (it’s inherited from the comp) and the default setting and conversion settings in the Decklink control panel have no effect.

    Hi Atiqur,

Thanks for the reply. I not quite sure what you mean. Could you explain it in more detail, please?

    Thanks

  • Hmmm, thanks for the replies. I’m actually in Australia. Basically, I need to be able to output a valid HD signal as I’m primarily working on 1080P25 projects. I.E. I need to output 1080 PsF25. I used to be able to do this, before Mercury Transmit came in to the equation.

If I am correct, it is now impossible to output a valid signal from AE via mercury transmit whilst working on 1080/25 composition. It seems absurd that Adobe would release such a crippled monitorin solution.

I work in Resolve a lot as well, and from Resolve I am able to output 1080/25PsF (or any other format for that matter) from a project of any resolution.

  • Update: A 1080/24 Comp produces a signal that the Bravia can see. Still no luck with 1080/25 or 720/25. Ideally I would like to be able to output PsF, but even straight up progressive isn’t working at the moment.

Thanks Peter. I’m using a Wacom, so I have re assigned one of the buttons on the stylus to centre click.

Thanks also Tim and Kevin for offering your advice.

Normally if I needed to round trip I would send an XML back to Premiere, but there was a whole lot of scaling, animation and split screening going on in Premiere that had to be maintained. I ended up rendering whole clips from Resolve, which renders fast enough but there were a lot of very long takes to be rendered.

    Cheers,

    Daniel
