I know how to regularly induce a fade. In this case I was talking about the lights. Normally, you would just adjust the intensity but in the project I am doing, I have the lights parented to a null controller that is controlling a light map. The opacity is always 0 unless there is something passing on the light map. the whole thing is like an LED display. In this case, I was using VCP’s Optical Flares and I had a separate adjustment layer for it. I just reduced the opacity on that layer to coincide with the increase of opacity on my object layer. It gave me the effect that I wanted. Thanks for your help.
I had my object as a 3d layer. Maybe that is why it was not working correctly. I will try the opacity pickwhip. Thanks for your help. Also, how to you do a layer fade? Is it a transition effect?
I don’t believe that the lights have an opacity transformation option. I have tried changing the opacity of the parent null but nothing changes at all. That is what I am having such a problem with.
Yes, they do work outside of After Effects which is why I find it so odd that they do not work in After Effects. They are .MOV files. I tried converting them to .MP4 but the problem still persists.
