What if you try customising the composition size setings to 1024 x 576 which is 16:9 PAL screen size??

When you add the composition to the render queue click on the settings (eg. best settings) then click on set and you can customise the time span of your render. You don’t have to render the whole duration of your clips.

Thanks heaps for that.. Going through a transition stage from 4:3 to 16:9 at the moment and have had a few problems. Thanks for your help
