Is it possible to take for example a 20 minute clip, import it into AE and cut it to only use 30 seconds of it and discard the rest from rendering? I did something similar and changed the clip length by dragging the ends to the proper clip location and when I rendered the 1.5 minute movie it was over 2gb. How can I cut out the rest of these long clips so they don’t affect the final render file size? Can this be done in AE or does the clip need to be first prepared in premiere?

    Thanks
    Tom

When you add the composition to the render queue click on the settings (eg. best settings) then click on set and you can customise the time span of your render. You don’t have to render the whole duration of your clips.
