hello…
[jack entonces] “Is there an easy and quick way to make my index page a construction page, AS WELL AS all the
other pages on my website?”well – rather than change the pages themselves, you can potentially leverage your webserver to just redirect all requests to any page to your construction page – for most hosting plans, you’d need apache and htaccess support (check your plan for that)…if you do have that, then let us know and i can show you a redirect option you can set up at the site root for all pages…
but outside of that, no – not really. and although the old school “web rules” don’t seem to apply as much any more, one of the big ones was always don’t have under construction pages – they are very annoying to a visitor as they are a hard dead end, so if you can at all avoid them while you’re doing the upgrade…
hope that helps!

hello…
ya – javascript is the tool that you need – i wrote a simple example and put it on my site for you:
https://www.sitruc.com/cow/js_copy_fields.html
you can get a lot fancier, but that should be the general concept you were looking for, yes?
lemme know if not or if you have other questions!

have you tried something like php nuke (a cms system – https://phpnuke.org/)? if that’s too big, then i’d really just give google a shot – php has _Tons_ of freeware things written that are available all over the place – things like photo galleries, forums, etc. etc…
that would be the best bet. i don’t have any specific software packages to recommend based on what you need, but i know there are some out there that would fit the bill…

[Whiteviper1] “How can i change it to a txt. file”
you’re not changing it per se – you’re just changing the extension so that when you double click on it, windows will see the .txt and open it as plain text – if it was a plain text file already, notepad will display it as text and you can copy/paste – although word can open plain text files as well.
you can also just force word to open it without changing the extension – if you see the text in word then you’re good to go…

if it’s just plain text, try changing the extension to .txt and opening it in notepad or wordpad…

if it’s just plain text, you should be able to copy/paste text out of it and into word, yes? that’s about all i can suggest though – i don’t know of any converter…i assume you googled for such a thing already?
