February 21, 2006 at 6:33 am in reply to: 3D Rotation on Text Using Per Character ProblemsThat’s exactly the effect I’m trying for, yes!! I could do it using several layers, but to make future use and modification easy, I was really wanting to see if it could be done all on just one text layer. That way, next time I wanted to use the project for something, I could just edit the text value, change that to something new, and have a new title. Quick, easy, painless. That is, if it can be done….??

Yes, spelled exactly that way. Here is the link to the information I got about the codec… http://www.usb-drivers.com/drivers/69/69728.htm
However, considering the fact that I’m doing a system upgrade in two days, I went ahead and went with your advice, and removed that codec. I figured that what the heck, I’ve already removed several that were suggested, one more wouldn’t hurt.
Imagine my surprise when PI started rendering AVIs for me!! ( big grin ) A BIG Thank You for your suggestion. It proved to hit paydirt.
Now my only issue is to try to figure out how to get PI and my Kodak camera to play well together on the new OS that will be installed.
Until then, I have a couple of days to render/test to my hearts content.
Many thanks, everyone who helped with suggestions!

I understand now. Thanks.

Did a quick search on the net, and found it to be a video codec for one of my cameras, a Kodak. Gotta keep that one! 🙂

Yes, I’m using the Demo version until I can determine if the program will work on MY system. 🙂
So, are you saying the demo works on x64, but the full program, as it is available now, will not??

My ATI and Pinnacle codecs I use daily, so I’m not prepared to remove those just yet. However, there is something I can do this weekend. I’m upgrading to a new mobo with AMD 64 X2 4600 on Friday, so right after installing WinXP 64, I’ll be sure to install PI right off, and see if it will render AVIs at that time or not.
IF it does, then I’ll just do a quick test after each install of my other NL editing software to try to see what the offending culprit is.
I’ll post back asap with the results. Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for the idea, however, after removal via the control panel applet, PI still gets the same old exception and crashes…. It was worth a try, however! 🙂

Hello again, and thanks for all the effort you and others have put into tracking this issue down!
Just wanted to confirm the spelling of that last codec. It is, in fact, IYVU9_32.dll , no spelling error here.
As I run 2 seperate virus checkers, I somewhat doubt that it is a virus or trojan, but one never knows…. ??
Anyway, looks like you are well on the way to tracking down the offending codec that I have. Thanks again to all!!

I did as you suggested, without any change. Still gets the exception. Does WinXP Pro store all the video codecs in just one directory, and if so, where is that directory? I can try moving them out one by one to see if that helps.
Otherwise, I think your last suggestion would be great! I would suggest that you be the one to make the new thread requesting that information, seeing as how I’m just a newbie and all… 🙂
