Hello. I’m new to AE, and would like to transform a layer of text, 5 letters long, into a title. My concept is to have each letter in the title start out at -90 on the Y axis, then swing out to 0.0 about 2 secs into the clip, hold for 2 secs, then return to -90 for the end of the clip.

I have read all I can find, and have learned to make the entire 5 letter word do the rotation, however that’s not the effect I’m going for. I cannot seem to figure out how to get each letter to rotate, simultainiously. I’ve tried messing with the offset, but that didn’t seem to work either.

Anyone have any detailed pointers for me that you care to share? Thank you very much!

Sorry for the double post, I was having trouble with the Post Direct button response.

Any reason why you can create 5 text layers, one character per layer. Flip the 3d switch for all of them and rotate them all with keyframes?

That’s exactly the effect I’m trying for, yes!! I could do it using several layers, but to make future use and modification easy, I was really wanting to see if it could be done all on just one text layer. That way, next time I wanted to use the project for something, I could just edit the text value, change that to something new, and have a new title. Quick, easy, painless. That is, if it can be done….??
