  • Thank you. That is what I needed, verification that there IS a problem…and it’s not just me.

I was hoping that Vegas could overcome the problems I was having, but it was having its own problems with the files.

I looked for a Reallusion, Animation, or Machinema forum to post this in, but could not find one. Maya was the only thing close, and that was not close enough.

    I will contact Reallusion.

    Sincerely,
    Crytal

  • There is a 64-bit version, and its free.

  • Hello,

    Interesting.
Nice video, easy to follow. Thank you. Though the captured text still looks a bit blurry to me, its not as bad as what I have been getting with Camtasia and Vegas.

I have used SnagIt 8 and 9, as well as the latest Camtasia, all on 3 different PCs, with blurry results. Then in desperation, begged a friend to use his Mac version of Camtasia on a Hi-Def notebook for one of my projects, so I could see if he could do it better than I could, and the resulting file was the same horrible blurry as I was getting on the PC’s.

I don’t know what I could possibly be doing wrong (or my friend, who uses Camtasia exclusively for everything). Other footage, like from Digital Juice, is clear as a clean summer day, but Camtasia Screen captures…think about trying to read a street sign when it is humid, foggy and smoggy. HyperCam2 was fantastic, though, and I am very glad I asked about such a possible program in the forum. 🙂

    I will go away now… 🙂
Thank you again for the help!

    Sincerely,
    Crystal

  • Hello,
Thank you, I finally figured where my capture was saved, but I had to use Windows Search to find it. It saves automatically to wherevery it wants, not to where I told it to save…and there is no SAVE button.
The instructions here are all that is available on their site or on the program. They do not explain that there is no save button, nor does it say what happens when you click PLAY after recording. So far, I have not gotten any capture to PLAY when I click the play button.

But now that I know where to find the file, I can just watch it in Vegas, and it is extremely good, I can zoom in quite nicely, and it renders out perfectly!

The totally free version is on the developers website. The Cnet Version is a demo and slightly older even though it was posted in March this year.

    Thank you for Hypercam2!
I can now bid on software tutorial jobs with confidence that they will look great!

    Sincerely,
    Crystal

  • Thank you, Theo!

I have the program installed now, but I am very puzzled.

It appears to record something, tells me how many frames, none dropped, but when I click Play nothing happens. And I cannot find a SAVE button. It says it is free to download and the demo version puts a watermark on the AVI, which is fine. But how do I play or save an AVI to even see if this is a program I want to buy?

Since you have used this program, can you enlighten me as to what I am missing? Where does it play? “Save” is not even in the help file.

    Thank you!

  • Interesting. I have Camtasia installed and the exported avi file was horrible in Vegas. Looked great as a stand-alone, but would not render well at all, even in 320x 🙁

Odd… I have had the same problem on 3 different computers. Snagit and Camtasia files refuse to be useful to me. I would if XP is the problem?

I have just installed HyperCam2. I am looking forward to finally having something that works well with Vegas as I keep getting asked to do screencast tutorials, and have had to turn them down due to lack of decent software. I wonder if what I am typing is being recorded… 🙂

    Thank you!
    Crystal
