    Thanks for the quick responses guys.
    I made about 20 paths in Illustrator and then copied them into after effects and stroked them with AE’s stroke.

    The first thing I tried was to animate the size of the strokes. I used expressions to link the different stroke sizes to sliders on a null so that every path that was stroked for instance 4px could be changed by one slider and so on. That works ok except if I nest the comp that contains the strokes then use a camera the strokes don’t scale they just get thicker. If I don’t use a camera and just scale the nested comp it works but I would like to use the camera. If I don’t pre-comp and just put the camera in the same comp as the layers with strokes and animate the size of the strokes it works but I need to be able to nest the comp.

    Adding expressions to remap the radius according to the distance of the camera to the layer sounds good and I thought about that but I don’t know how to write it.
