Hi,
I’m having the same problem using the multicam monitor in premiere cs3. Playback is extremely slow and stuttery. Playback in source and program monitors is fine. My footage is 24p captured with HDV Split from a Canon HV30.

Setup:
2.8 Ghz CPU
2 GB RAM
200GB SATA RAID0 as scratch disk
XP SP3

I’ve done a great deal of defraging and disk clean up, quitting unnecasary programs, updateing premiere, etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
