Are you using FCPX now? If so, how much time are you spending with it? Do you have or can you create examples of the potential problems of which you speak?
I’m asking these questions as someone who has spent a lot of time reading various viewpoints of the new software. Like many, I see the potential of FCPX but I am also concerned about the potential pitfalls.
Thanks.

But why would you recommend they spend 300 when they can just use iMovie for a school project?
-
I agree with that Liam. For the most part I make my own judgements especially since my company will give strong consideration to my buying advice. However, there are a few blogs that I read and people that I respect and would be interested in their opinion. I would be interested to hear Stu Maschwitz opinion on FCPX. But right now I’m leaning towards a recommending a switch to PP. We have it in our edit suite but all the producers have FCP7 on their MacBook Pro’s. I also agree with David, I would love to hear from Apple about their direction.

Business must be slow for you Sheriff because you sure spend a lot of time posting on a program you hate. You may need some counseling. All these “fanboys” and “apologists” sure got you panties in a bind.
-
Why would I be afraid of Apple? I’m just not going to put my name to anything that doesn’t come off as professional. That petition is a waist of time.
No offense to you either Sheriff but if you are done with Apple, why are you still hanging around this forum and posting as often as you are – each time more venomous than the previous? If they have blown it with you, then why not move on to the next thing? Maybe you are a little more optimistic than you let on that they will right the ship.
Also, I mentioned this to you in an encounter before. Don’t go dismissing everybody that differs from you with the “fanboy” wrap. People are different and you should be able to respect another man’s opinion. Personally, when I see someone calling someone else a fanboy, I think of some teen typing away on his Dad’s computer. It’s a bit childish.

Wow! That last line requesting them to sell it by a certain date would keep me from signing that petition. It’s too strong. You wouldn’t be happy if they added the missing features and improved upon what’s there? As bad as it is, I don’t think it takes a lot to fix this problem. It’s more about how fast they can do it and how they address the professional community. At some point, there will be a statement from Jobs about this. What he says could put a lot of concern to rest IMO.

June 25, 2011 at 11:18 pm in reply to: Why most of the the “Trainers” are so positive about X-FCPI didn’t perceive it that way at all. Jordan was saying that there were more people curious about FCPX than he anticipated. There are a lot who are remaining quite and learning the program before they rush to judgement.

I meant Apple’s cash flow in response to Tim’s comment.
-
Well Tim I just saw that article today. I’m talking about when they did the preview.
If people really do jump ship like they are talking about here then I’m sure they won’t like the delay in that cash flow either.
I think people like Gary should have been brought into the loop sooner to give input that could have been implemented in this release. But I’m sure there are laws against that too.
