The problem you’ll find is that there isn’t anything else HD in the EX1 price range or less that’ll come close to matching its low light ability. That’s going to be a big factor with event work.

FAT32 would actually work on both platforms. SxS cards are FAT32 so if you’re just copying the BPAV over FAT32 would work.
If you’re on an Intel Mac you can install Windows with Parallels or VMWare Fusion.
The alternative is that there are some 3rd party Mac utilities that may allow you to write to NTFS on Mac.
I believe NTFS is read only on the Mac.

Many professional cameras have a -3db gain setting. EX1 is one of them. Given the low light in the background I wanted to reduce any possibility of noise. I also wanted to bring down peak levels “just in case.”
At F1.9 at night an ND filter would have darkened things too much.
In other words -3db can give you a bit more room when you need to open iris wide. -
Hard to make any suggestions without knowing lots of details.
What’s your source codec and video specs?
What is your target? Web can be anything from dial up to 100Mbps in parts of Europe. -
Did you look at the link? Shows the fireworks and mentions the settings. F1.9, -(minus)3db gain. Matrix HiSat, CineGamma4. 1080p30 shutter 1/60.

Recent versions of Flip4Mac don’t have the sample rate issue anymore. There does seem to be a bug when using 1 pass VBR encodes that cause the encode to hand forever. If you’re on version 2.2.0.49 and need to do a 1 pass VBR and get the hang, go back to 2.1.3.10.
