you might try disk warrior on system drive. i’ve had user accounts get corrupted before. on fcp 7 systems.

I assume your tried refresh of page with missing posts? I have seen this type of behavior more and more in various apps on different machines. Wondering if it has something to do with updates to the OS. Missing data and then things reappear. no obvious pattern.

I’ve used the E6 and they will help. You might consider directional hand held mikes as well or even use voice overs.

You could hang some moving blankets on the mesh racks with some clamps. And you could try to hang more muslin behind the camera (D) using a back ground support

Only one projects and events folder per drive and must be on the root level.

Sorry. Haven’t tried one but considered it once and thought I read good reviews about the sonnet card. I see now that its been hit or miss. Esata would be faster anyway. I use internal raid on mine and firewire 800 for external back-ups and the like. I would consider deleting my original post but the follow up posts are kinda helpful.

You can do a clean install to an external formatted drive then download all your apps move your docs over, test everything and when ready clone to your system drive.

I will be setting up an editing lab with Pegasus r4 raid enclosures (18 units) as the media drives. Do you have any suggestions for a security cage/enclosure to put them in to prevent drives from being removed and units stolen.

I’ve run a cordless kit into a powered speaker without a problem. But always a handheld not a lav. Is it because most lavs are omnis and therefore more likely to pick up the waves from the speaker?

I’ve been in plenty of auditoriums where the speakers are facing the audience on either side of the stage and a presenter is on the house floor holding a wireless hand held and all sorts of hellish sounds are produced.

By contrast, I’ve miked performers on stage with wireless lavs which feeds a mixer and in turn feeds the speakers and all goes well. Isn’t it more or less line of sight if the sound waves from the speakers reach the mike? And yes the sensitivity level of the mike and the levels being used can increase or decrease just how ear shattering the feedback can be? Is there more to it? Reflections maybe?
