  • Thanks a million! This is great!

  • Hi! Thanks for responding! What I mean by non-contiguous is text that’s not grouped together. So for example, in MS Word, if I wanted to select the words “Thanks” and “responding” without selecting the word “for” in the first line of this message I would highlight the word “Thanks” then press the control key and highlight the word “responding” I can’t find a way in In Design of doing this. Thanks again!!! Peter

Wow! Strange — wonder what the story is — some sort of patent dispute maybe as to why you can’t output to MP3 …

Yes, you can change audio speed without changing pitch using Soudtrack Pro. I haven’t done it myself so I don’t know the details, but friends of mine have done it and the results have been remarkable. I have to say that each time I’ve seen it done, the sound speeded up has been narration or interviews over b-roll so I don’t know if there are issues involved in matching say the speed of the picture of someone being interviewed with the sped up voice, but I imagine there are ways to resolve this.

Exactly the same thing happened to me today. I was able to restore with FCP rescue, though. Could Apple have sent some sort of update in the last 24 hours that’s causing problems?

I use a G-Raid 500 gig drive with only one MAC. The drive has been absolutely fabulous for my purposes. Fast, reliable, you’d never know it was an external drive. Looks great too and is light and easy to move around.

  • Thanks for the feedback! In tracing the problem I think it did happen in the field. I was easily able to fix it in FCP.

    Cheers,

You can also try using Compressor. It has a standards converter (or at least the latest version does). However I hear that http://www.nattress.com works better.

I was dealing with this problem with an editor just yesterday. We found XML largely did the job but that markers didn’t export. We were doing rough and fast tests, though, so perhaps there is a way of transferring markers which we weren’t aware of.

Otherwise, everything else we focused on — clips, subclips, and sequences, all transferred between programs with no issues using XML.
