first of all i want to thank you so much for your answers. there’s a good reason why i use this forum, and it’s because i learn new things. i started to deal a lot latelty with expressions, but i didn’t got the chance to find out about layer control until now.

yes, your sollution is very effective, and it’s kind of handy. and i didn’t check the project yet, but as i remember, i am able to move all the countries layers in the same comp. the only big problem about it is the fact that all the controls that i’ve managed to build in the project are in a single comp, so it would be very user-friendly. and the problem that this comp with all the controls, that acts like a control panel, it’s not the same comp with the countries. and unfortunatelly, you cannot link layer controls to other comps. so we must find another way about it.

while you were helping me with the answers, i got something similiar,like this:

x=thisComp.layer(“got a slider here”).effects(“slider”)(1);
y=parseInt(x);
thisComp.layer(y).transform.opacity

it worked, the only problem was that y was retrieveng the index number from the layer, which wasn’t the best way, since is pretty easy to add a new layer and mess everything up. i tried something similiar to what you have with “position “+x, but didn’t work. so thanks a lot

i’m working on a 21000×21000 jpg map whit a cc sphere over. it’s a world map that spins and zooms. i have quad core with 4 gb ram. haven’t found a solution yet. any ideas? i cant decrease the size of the jpg.

you don’t understand. even before i move the project into encore is the same problem. i’ll try to be more specific:

somebody edited 70 files of image and sound (speech+music)
i’ve made a premiere project with those files and put chapter markers, imported the project into encore, made the dvd.

but the mono-with-no-speech problem, is from the avi files, not premiere, not encore, cause i’ve played them on VLC, and when i choose mono, i lose the speech.

nope, no 5.1 on tv or dvd. also, if i play de video file on vlc and select mono instead of stereo, i hear only the music.

i exported the audio part from premiere, and import it into sony acid and strange thing happend. if i pan the audio left or right, i lose the speech, when i aproach to the center of pan, the speech starts to hear. it’s very strange. i thought that if i hear the speech centered, it supposed to mean the speech is equal left and right..

it’s out of my powers of understanding.
