I know this is an ancient thread, and I appreciated your original answer (I used it in fact, and it looked pretty good anyways) but I was wondering whether any software other than Vegas can do what I am describing here?

Perhaps After Effects?

If you zoom in on the picture you will see that there are interlacing artifacts in both pictures, the reason you aren’t seeing them is probably because your internet browser is scaling the picture down thus blurring it.

Anyways I will try to uninstall and then reinstall the BCC filters, all of them work, but the deinterlacing filter isn’t doing anything even if i have it on Just Deinterlace.

Very frustrating.

That’s a screencap of the side by side thing. My project is at 1440×1080, so it’s 1.33 PAR anamorphic(thus turning into 1920×1080).

the deinterlacer is not doing anything on any of the presets.

Perhaps I have a bad version of BCC? Should I try an older version?

also, I forgot to add that I am using Vegas pro 10.0d, 64 bit.

And yes, my BCC version is 64 bit too.

Ok thanks, thats some very helpful info.

Does shooting at 30 shutter recording at 60i make it easier to convert to actual 30p? What sort of deinterlacer should I use in that situation? thanks!

I tried the smart deinterlace plugin, but I found that it didn’t work. Could that be because my project setting is set for SD when some of my footage is HD?

Perfect! That looks much better, but I’m not sure why!

Isn’t interpolating a bad thing??

I downloaded Huffyuv, and then got TMPGEnc to encode the flv to that, and it works fine now!

Why is MP4 such a bad editing format? What difference do these formats make to one another (basically, what makes a good editing format)?
