[Jeff Brown] “but for SD work here in the states, Digital BetaCam would probably be the most common deliverable.”

How about HD, what is the most common delivery format? Thanks Jeff.

[Jeff Brown] “For deck control, you would need an RS-422 connection to your system. You can just “crash record” without the RS-422: hit record on the deck, wait about 10 seconds, then hit “play” in Premiere.”

What is RS422? Is it an interface card? If I install it, will Premiere talk to the deck like it talks to my miniDV recorder?

[Jeff Brown] “I have had a PVW deck for almost 15 years now; though anymore I use it about once every 6 months.”

Since you use it every 6 months, then most of your clients must be requiring some formats other than Betacam. What do most of them require? Here in the Philippines, whenever I talk to some friends and acquaintances in ad agencies and television networks, they tell me they almost always require Betacam. Is this also true for the U.S.?

[Jon Barrie] “Betacam is a Professional Broadcast Quality Format. It uses a Serial connection and not FW. It has component output/input via SDI so I think you’re outta luck with your software based system.”

Thanks Jon! But do you mean big post production houses don’t use Premiere Pro and other software based systems? What do they use?

Which among the two can you say is the direct competitor of After Effects?

Thanks guys. I saw the problem. You are right. I failed to check that the keyframes are set to Bezier interpolation.

As for why I did not simply deleted the second keyframe, the reason is this: I actually have another keyframe (which I did not mention because I thought it was irrelevant to mention) before the first one that I mentioned. So, there are actually four keyframes. The idea was for the z axis to change from keyframe 1 to keyframe 2. Then hold the value of keyframe 2 until the CTI reaches keyframe 3 (which is why keyframe 2 and 3 have the same value of -500). Then value should change again from keyframe 3 to keyframe 4.

Thanks for the help. Very much appreciated.

Yes you are right. But what I’m thinking of is if they cost only around $1,000, then a camcorder built around that technology will probably be in the neighborhood of $7,000 (or probably less). That will definitely be something to watch out for.

Thanks Mark! Your connector looks like the easiest to make.

Thanks! I saw the site and it’s a great source of info. I’m starting to make everything DIY. Around here in Manila, clients think a $1,000 project is too much and a $2,000 a joke. And the only thing I can do to lower cost is to either give my labor costs for free or make DIY equipment. I chose the 2nd option. Clients think they can do great videos by simply buying a cheap camcorder and putting together everything in Movie Maker. I want to do great videos for clients but I also want to be able to put food on the table. I probably should post this at the business forum. Thanks and God bless.

Oh, sorry. I wasn’t aware of that. So what shall I do to have the “least” bumps as possible?
