    Hi Florence,

Personally, I would start up Encore first, and then dynamic link a Premiere sequence in.

Firstly, to create a shortcut of Encore:
    1. Go to your start menu and in the search box at the bottom, just search for Encore. The program icon should pop to the top of the list.
    2. Right-click-drag on the icon and drop on your desktop. – There’s your shortcut.

Now right-click on the new shortcut and in the menu that appears select “Run As Administrator”

Encore will open, you can import your Premiere sequences via dynamic link and then try building your project.

    Hope that helps,
    Clint

    Hi Florence,

It’s still a bit vague, but I’m also running CS4 on Vista 64bit, and one thing that I’ve had to do was to run Encore as the Administrator.

Find the shortcut (or make a shortcut) to Encore and then Right-Click on it to bring up the menu. Choose Run As Administrator and then the program should start. Open your project up and try building the project again.

One other thing to try is to create DVD Folders rather than burning straight to a DVD. This is my current workflow and it seems to have ironed out a lot of the bugs I’ve encountered in the past.

Hope that helps, and feel free to add some more information so we can help.

    Thanks,
    Clint

Do you usually segment the video so there are lots of layer-break choices in IMGBURN, or do you do one long video stream?

Thanks again Jeff, I’m going to try the Playlist way to see if the navigation problem is fixed.

    Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the reply. In your experience, is the Standard Playlist way pretty well supported in DVD players?

Would this be the same if the disc was a Blu-ray?

How do you handle the layer-break issue with very long films?

    Thanks again,

    Hi David,

Thanks for the suggestion… I haven’t used the BNC connections before on this card (AJA Xena LHi)

Could this only be used to import the video? Am I right in saying that the BNC could only bring in on of the RCA cables?

Thanks for the info, it may work its way into my workflow if it seems to work.

    Many thanks,
    Clint

It was definitely a scrambled picture… probably was HDCP.

Didn’t know about that, thanks for the info!

    Hi Jeremy,

It seemed that what you said is right about the blu-ray player being in SD mode still.

Unfortunately, when I set the setting to 1080p or 1080i, the card can’t display the picture for some reason. The card can display when the player is set to 720p, but even with my RAID array, it won’t capture.

Thanks anyway, I’m currently upscaling to 720p with AviSynth and we’ll just settle for that.

    Cheers,
    Clint

November 27, 2010 at 2:44 pm in reply to: Repication vs Duplication Blu-Ray

    Hi Guys,

We’ve found some playability issues with duped blu-rays, but it’s mainly because the discs were played on early players that required you to have AACS on the disc… BD-Rs don’t have that.

BD-J stuff seems to have playibilty issues in duplicated and replicated discs mostly due to old firmware.

Matt, I have the same player, and Terminator Salvation doesn’t load because of an old firmware.

With any duplication, the discs matter… you get what you pay for.

Hope that helps, and if you’re in the UK check out

    Cheers,

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for the post and advice… It does seem like it’ll do the job from what I’ve looked at.

Like you said, the learning curve may be a little steep, but it seems like a great tool because it does make dynamic development so much easier.

I’ll go that route and let you know if I hit any snags.

    Many thanks,
    Clint
