Joe,
I agree 100%. I’m going to do what I can to get the client to just use royalty free music for the video. I don’t want to take the word of some random person from a record label. -
So the team contacted the record label with the song they want to use and the head of the organization for their sport. In short the label said, they cannot provide anything in writing as to give permission to use the song. We would need to talk to the person in copyright for that. But then they go on to say to the fact that if no money is being made they really don’t have a problem. But if there is money made they want their percentage. What I don’t like is them saying we can’t give anything in writing. And yeah it’s only going to be used for the team on the jumbo tron’s. Just wanted to keep you all updated.

That is what I thought as well. But just didn’t know if there was a way to us ethe song they want. Thank again all.

Thanks all for posting back. I pretty much knew that would be the answer but I didn’t know if teams had a special wavier or some type of permission to use songs. To go one step further, what if we recored a local band playing that song. Can we use that?

December 5, 2012 at 8:35 pm in reply to: Horrible Noise from the HM700. Can it be fixed?Just a follow up and please tell me if this sound correct but I did hours of more searching online and found that I had not fixed the back focus on the camera. Would this be why the camera was grainy/ had so much noise in the BG? All I know is that I adjusted that and now the shots look very good with moderate to low light. Would just love to see if I am correct.
Thank you

Charlie,
That is pretty much what I felt it was as well. I checked into the transcend and will probably order up a few of those. Thank you for the response. -
Tony, I think I get ya. it sounds pretty much the same as I used to do in 7 but with different terminology. In the long and short of it, I can just edit a whole seg, after it’s done compound (nest) and then bring it to a final time line for the complete show (project). I guess when looking at it now my big question was, can I copy one project to another time line or project?
Thanks so much for the help;

Thank you Jeremy. So compound clip is basically nesting the item. That’s what I was looking for. But if anyone has better work around or pipeline that would be easier, I would love to hear about it.

Bob,
You correct on that. They said either .mov or .avi. Sorry if I misspoke on that. My concern on it was more about how to give it to them. Do I use a SD type card, or a thumb drive, or is there a better way that other have used. What I was trying to also say was that I have tried to save out video to an SD type card and the card did not accept it so I was not sure if it was possible to save from the computer to the card. I have not had luck with that. Sorry for the confusion.Chuck
