the above post uses a tweaked color effect made by AE. Here I made a custom project that is 2x the highlight restore capability of RAW so that you don’t have to re-render out a jpg sequence to just use RAW.

I appreciate your feedback. I wrote a new project that is 10x better than my last one and I believe 2x the restore capability of RAW.

make sure the aspect ratio is the same. Are you positive you have a perfect track? Place a primitive in there, like a cube, and see if it slides on the floor. Have you setup your coord system? Did you use a wide angle lens(remove distortion) watch the tutorials. You can delete probable bad tracks with its menu button. remember you need like 10-12 tracks to solve, and often need manual tracking on hard solves.

best advice I can give. output a 10 or 16 bit 444 uncompressed codec(8 bit or 422 will bleed badly), don’t put it next to other bright colors and finally legalize broadcast values with a limiter than interpolates smoothly like color finesse’s smart limiter.

this is another way to do it…
have you ever wished that it was easy to fix your blown out footage with missing highlights and/or dark shadows were fixed with a single click. Now they are. You can even tweak your footage to look like HDR in a few seconds even if you don’t own 2 cameras and a beam splitter.

timewarp’s pixel shutter blur might be faster than Force Motion Blur, I haven’t timed them. just leave timewarp at 100%, but turn shutter on.

what I do is create checkbox’s in layers called Controls, then hide all the other layers. Then simply do a opacity * 100 because checkbox’s are 1 or 0. Then use kevin’s expression or something similar to make only one layer visible. It’s basically making a poor man’s AEX file.
